The $789 billion compromise stimulus bill was signed into law on February 17, 2009 and includes tax credits incentives for energy efficient home improvements. This approved bill extends tax credit though 2010 for energy efficient upgrades that include qualifying windows and doors.

  • To apply for the tax credit, all receipts, labels, and stickers must be saved for those windows purchased
  • Claims for windows only can be made; associated installation costs, assembly costs, preparation costs and related sales tax cannot be claimed.
  • Windows purchases must be made during the taxable year for which the credit is claimed.
